Planting combinations that work
Pairings grouped by where they are used on site. Names in green open the plant; a few pairings call for material the schedule does not yet carry (agave, cycas, decorative pebbles) and those are shown in grey.
How to read the specifications
The same four measures are recorded for every plant, so two options can be compared at a glance.
Watering need
The interval between soakings in a normal growing season, from every 1–2 days for thirsty ferns and bananas to every 10–14 days for succulents and established trees.
Care level
Very Low plants tolerate neglect and irregular attention. High plants need a trained hand: feeding on schedule, pruning, and early pest control.
Fertiliser & disease
Each entry carries a feeding interval with its application method, the pests and diseases most likely to appear, and the control action for each.
